bkwok -> fork/execve display problems (Sep. 28, '06, 11:25:49 AM)

My application passes "ls" to fork/execve. No display problem when running the program in SFU 3.5 and 2003 R2 SUA. 2 problems when running in Vista.
The 1st problem is the mysterious "Not supported" messages. The message is not from my program.
The 2nd problem seems that CarriageReturn characters are missing.
Any suggestion how to get around the problems.

The following is sample output:

Not supported

Which Vista are you running? Can you quote the build number please.

There's not enough context here to determine what's happening.
What are the args to execve that you are giving and the values of those args?

Vista RC1 build 5600.
SUA SDK is the lastest from MS (date published: Sept.12, 2006 ).
The executable is built from several hundred object files. It will take some time to recreate the problem in a simple small C program.
But the same set of programs compile and run in both SFU 3.5, 2003 R2 SUA without any display problem. If MS will fix this problem in RTM release, I am willing to try to recreate it.

Thanks.

I'm a Program Manager with MSFT. With the information currently available, I would not be able to commit to a fix for this issue in RTM. Nonetheless, additional information (like a simple C program) would definitely help us in indentifying the issue. Only after the bug and its severity are known we would be able say if this would be fixed in RTM.

Thanks for helping us making Vista SUA better.
