stinndler -> Redhat AS3 binding to AD (Oct. 17, '05, 2:09:18 PM)

I just want to give a quick run down of what our organization looks like.
I work for a school division with 13 domain controllers running on a MAN. All the sites are directly connected with at least 10MB fiber. We want to get our Sun thin clients authenticating to AD. Not only do we want them authenticating we want to mount the users home directory off the AD box as well. SFU sounds like it would do everything we need, and in fact we had it working on a test network with one AD server and one Linux server.
So now we have SFU installed on the PDC and I've just installed it on one of the other DCs. The DC i installed it on cannot enumerate maps from the PDC. We are using simple maps which sets up just fine with no errors. However when I click Show User Maps I get "Unable to access User Name Mapping server. No Maps could be obtained."
I come from a heavy Nix background and windows is pretty well a mystery to me, especially since it doesn't really tell you what the heck is going on.
The plan is to have SFU installed on all the DCs then have the local Linux boxes auth to the local DC. It would also mount the users files off the local DC.
I wasn't directly involved with the initial testing however I have been tasked with getting it deployed on the real network. I'm almost at a loss of where to go from here. Any reading that can be suggested would be great, I have the "Windows Security and Directory Services for UNIX" pdf which I've started to read over.
