sirpadk -> Documenting the network (Jan. 20, '06, 4:48:53 AM) |
Hallo guys,
Well I do not know if it's the place to ask this question, due to the fact that in my company we use Win server only. but the question is not about an OS, rather about the network itself.
What I'm looking for, and I allready tried to google it but no help there at the moment, is a tol that can automaticly monitor the structure of the network (Servers, clients, switches, SAN, NAS, clusters setup, routers, firewall etc.) and the way they are connected to each other.
the tool shall be able to create an interactive application, where the administrator can on demand retrive information on the HW and SW inside each station in the domain, the services that run on it etc.
The main goal is to have a documentation of the entire network, without the need to update the document up on each and every change in the network (e.g. upgrading Memory, or changing to a bigger harddisk capccity, or installing a service pack)
Am I asking for too much? is there a tool that might supply those needs?
10x alot for the your attention and future help.
Best Regards,
Rafi Asraf. |
