mduft -> Win2k3 Server and SFU 3.5 -> ufffff..... (Feb. 22, '06, 4:24:48 AM)

Hey there!

I could need a little help ;o)

I have installed SFU 3.5 on a Windows 2k3 Server (not R2) inside a VMWare. Everything seems to go fine during installation, but when i try to run a configure script for example, it crashes at random points (most of the time when calling config.sub). Sometimes it just hangs, sometimes the call goes just fine, and sometimes i get a core dump. This also happened when gcc was called for example. Is this a Server 2k3 issue i do not know anything about, or what else could this be?

i tried to run configure scripts from:

bash
cvs
make
vim

all of the crash sooner or later. Make once got through and crashed on creating the last Makefile (i.e. config.status crashed, and made configure crash too) /bin/sh is ksh (tcsh doesn't work, so....)

I thought of this beeing a shell problem, but how can i resolve it, if i can't compile another shell?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Markus

Refer to FAQ 2.07 that addresses these 2 issues specifically.

FYI
The link to FAQ 2.07 no longer works.

mmm, yes, some of the links seem to have changed.
The FAQ link is always at the top of each page.
I'll update the old link above and here it is repeated (FAQ 2.07).
