I install SFU3.5 on XP SP2. Then install ghostscript-8.15.1-bin via pkg_update from interopsystems' ftp. When I invoke "gs" from bash, it report as below,
"gs: error in loading shared libraries
/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.3.5: undefined symbol: __alloca"
I had checked libX11.so.3.5 with "nm" command, it reports as
000346e9 t ___XkbDefaultToUpper
U ___mb_cur_max
U ___sF
U ___srget
U ___swbuf
U __alloca
0007a820 B __bss_end__
can anybody help me?

_alloca should have been resolved by gcc when it was built.
I can see it in the gs binary (001bfbe0 T __alloca).
What you see in libX11.so.3.5 is okay.
Looking into it...

When I worked on Win2k+SP4, the gs worked OK. But it was long long ago, I'm not sure if it was old version.

I don't know what was happening for you before, but I've updated
ghostscript to version 8.54 (it'd been a while).
Update to this version and see how it goes for you:
pkg_update -L ghostscript

Thanks. I had tried the new one. It works properly. But I update to it by manually downloading. I had tried pkg_update utility. But it can't find the new one.

Sorry about that. I missed adding it to the list file. Done now.
