Anyone get the SFU SDK/Tools to install on vista rc2?
I'm getting a failed to create symlinks error trying to install the RC1 SDK/Tools. The RC1 tools worked/installed fine for me on 5728. Anyone else try this yet?
Here's the exact error:
Product: Utilities and SDK for UNIX-based Applications -- Error 26263. Setup failed to create the symlink etc\hosts

Rodney hinted at the fact there'd be a new SDK for Vista RC2...
http://www.interopsystems.com/tools/fb.aspx?m=10012
Whether this will be public... no idea. :D

Well, I hope MS releases something public :) Otherwise I guess I'm waiting til RTM for a nice nix shell in windows. The link that SFU puts in the start menu still points to the RC1 tools.

From what I was told a few weeks ago, the RC1 SDK is supposed to install
on all platforms after RC1 too. So report this as a bug if you can.
Reported bugs get priority AFAIK.
I only heard today about RC2 being released (I was away for Thanksgiving).
I'll ask about an SDK update.

Well, it looks like it was user error :)
As it turns out, i was running the windows installer package directly and not using setup.exe. When I ran setup.exe, everything installed fine. I was in such a rush to get my system back up with rc2, i hadn't unchecked "hide extensions of known file types" yet and kept doubleclicking the wrong "setup"
Thanks, Rodney. I just discovered interix and this site 2 weeks ago, looks like fun. I've been using cygwin for so long i missed sfu being released for free a few years ago.
