Hi, I want to mount an NFS partition from my neighboring Linux box. I can perform the mount command, but is there something useful like the /etc/fstab file so that this can happen automatically at boot up? It is rather harsh to have to type in all the parameters to mount everytime I reboot.

Thanks in advance, this is a really cool system.

Windows doesn' t work that way. Windows is based on a single-user system. As such, network resources are mounted by the user when the user logs in. And these resources are mounted to drive letters - of which each user has their own set of driver letters (starting with XP).
I' m not sure, but it may be possible to write a .bat or .cmd script that does the mount command and you put this script in your Windows Startup Folder.

Hmm. What I want to do is mount a bunch of NFS Unix drives. I see in /net what appears to be my Windows (SMB) network. But I want to mount a unix share at a particular location, for example, I want /u3 to point to my nfs drive unixbox:/exports/myproject/secretcode.

This is fairly fundamental in unix, and it appears that SFU is pretty close. The /etc/fstab file is a way of remembering all these drives without having to hard-code them in startup scripts.

Maybe my request is more of an enhancement request...

Sorry, the UNIX style mount functionality isn' t available yet. A beta implementation of it was being worked on prior to the 3.0 release but it wasn' t completely ready in time. And it obviously didn' t make it into the 3.5 release. Maybe Microsoft will find time to put it in the next release.

Thanks. Is there a place to check back where this might be released? I mean, will it be on the MS site, or on this site?

Don' t expect 4.0 for at least 18-24 months.
Details will be on a Microsoft site somewhere.
