Just released in binary form is glib version 2.4.0.
This release includes the shared libraries and as such when
installing the binary packages the depending shared libraries
from with be installed as well.
to install do:
pkg_add ftp://ftp.interopsystems.com/pkgs/3.5/glib-current-bin.tgz

With the help of the folks in the forum (yup, that includes you!)
we found the packainging of glib 2.4.0 was missing a couple
of header files and that it needs to be dependent on pkgconfig.
Some libraries that want to use glib use pkgconfig to
get information about the glib installation.
The update is pretty quick as the package isn't too big. Do:
pkg_add ftp://ftp.interopsystems.com/pkgs/3.5/glib-current-bin.tgz
and that will get you glib 2.4.0.1.
