Hello,
I can't get colors while using xterm, setting -tn xterm-color (after doing infotocap) did not help either.
I'm using Cygwin/X as the X server, and it displays colors in a Linux xterm client.
Mutt is my test app. Is this related to ncurses? Or an SFU-xterm issue?

The xterm that ships with SFU is black & white (b&w) only.
If you run mutt in an interix terminal you
will see the colours.

Any prospects of packaging a more recent xterm, say, xterm-185?

I'll add it to the wish list right beside rxvt.

As a follow-up. I have been using rxvt for several days now with TCSH and it works quite well. Aterm is a bit flaky--which I guess in unsurprising given the low version number. I don't see any advantage to aterm on Interix other than the AfterStep style scrollbar instead of a motif-style scrollbar. I don't recommend posting my aterm package into the tools warehous.

Actually the new xterm from the tool warehouse does support color, but a bug in it causes the TERM environment variable to be set to 'xterm' instead of 'xterm-color'. You can manually set it to 'xterm-color' in every xterm you open or put it in your profile, with conditional checking for TERM=xterm and replacing with TERM=xterm-color. This solution also takes care of the fact that in the interix shell, TERM will not be changed. I tested it with lynx and vim. Both worked fine.
