Have you tried replacing the wtmpx file using /bin/mvwtmpx ?

Tried - no results
Maybe after a next reboot...
but I'm slowly running out of ideas.

Isn't the output of the ls -l /bin/who any hint?

I must have overwritten this file with a zero file, don't know how but that must be the cause. I'll check it on Wednesday when I get the original /bin/who

Anyway - does the who command show only the users that are connected to interix subsystem?

Yes/Correct.
If someone connects to the Interix side then you see them.
If someone connects to the Win32 side (for example, with the Win32 Telner server)
you can see their processes (ps -A), but they won't have an entry in the
utmpx or wtmpx files.

Is there any way to see all the logged users in both subsystems? Some way to aggregate the information?
