Thanks a lot, I now can login (using openssh-3.9.0.1.1-bin). Only one problem remains: I need to do a Public Key login, but it won't work... I've tracked it down to this error from the sshd's debug output:
debug1: temporarily_use_uid: 0/197121 (e=0/0)
debug1: trying public key file /dev/fs/C/pcadmin/.ssh/authorized_keys2
Authentication refused: bad ownership or modes for file /dev/fs/C/pcadmin/.ssh/a
uthorized_keys2
debug1: restore_uid: 0/0
Failed publickey for pcadmin from <ip here> port 46679 ssh2
The thing I don't understand is that I can do a public key login using the same file permissions with openssh 3.8p1-2...
What ownership and modes are required for the authorized keys file?
Thanks in advance...

That's progress.
I'll follow the messages and see where the difficulty is.
What is the owner/group/mode of /dev/fs/C/pcadmin/.ssh/authorized_keys2 ?

Hello...
Thanks for your effort, I tried the newest version (openssh 3.9.0.1.4) mentioned here http://www.interopsystems.com/tools/forum/m.asp?m=4758&mpage=1&key= and it works now.
I had one problem with openssh-current-bin.tgz:
pkg_add(openssh-current-bin): add of dependency `syslogd-1.0-bin' failed!
I manually had to add the dependency by doing "pkg_add [...]syslogd-current-bin.tgz" because "-1.0-" was not found on the tools ftp server. Either fix the Openssh-Package to look for "-current-" instead of "-1.0-" or upload a "-1.0-" to the tools ftp-Server. Thanks ;)
bye
Christian
