I am test benchmarking the new IBM Blade series... I need to be able to export the root of 2 drives on the Blades (F and G)
I see no "exports" directory... how to I configure these shares
(Security is not an issue... no need bc it's just a test)
Thanks in advance,
Thaidog

You should read the on-line documentation/help that comes with SFU.
In brief the NFS server is a Win32 process that is run as a service.
Once you have NFS server running then you can "share" the file systems
either through File Explorer or the NET commands.
Start -> Programs -> Windows Services for UNIX -> Help for Service for UNIX
then search for "NFS server".
You should also run "username mapping". It's described more in the
docs, but it allows for mapping the username/uid of the requesting
user to the username/SID on the NFS server machine. Whether you are
or are no concerned about security this provides the best functionality
and lowest headaches.

I found a tab under the sharing option for NFS... I have added rw permissions and root access... but I'm getting "permission denied" from my Red Hat clients. I also added a "root" user to the Windows box w/ the root password for the RH box... I'll mess around with username mapping and see what happens.

The "root" user you have added will only confuse things. This user you have
added is just a plain, everyday user with no special powers.

The username mapping should clear that up.

OK I got them mounted, and from the Red Hat client it looks like it's writting to the f and g drives but I can not fimd the files on the Windows drives locally... nor see any of the server drive's files remotely. (From the commandline /dev/fs/f(g) or via gui)
Any idea what's going on?

Well, file and directory permissions still need to be obeyed.
You have the RH users mapped to Windows users with username mapping.
Do the Windows users have permission to access the directories?
Or more specifically do the Win users have permission to look at the content of a directory?
It's is perfectly correct to have directory permissions that allow users to read and write
to files in a directory as long as they know what the filenames are but not allow them to see
what the filenames are in the directory.
Look at the directory and file permissions plus the directory content a couple of different
ways as Administrator (not as a user who is the member of the Administrators group):
look with CACLS.EXE (not file explorer) and look using the Interix ls -l.

I got it straight... I used mount -f which did not actually mount the files on the RH box. Slip! Thanks for the help!
