In the June 2005 Microsoft Security Bulletin Advance Notification there is mention of a medium severity level patch for SFU that will be released June 14, 2005.

Any one have any insight as to what's up?

Over in the Newgroup Charlie indicated that it had to do with Telnet.
I asked where he heard and he wrote that it was from the bulletin.
But I couldn't see where it had such detail (which is why I asked him).
I haven't see anything with CERT about telnet recently. So I'm guessing
that it may have to do with the Win32 telnet rather than the Interix telnet.

I just downloaded it and found that it is the Win32 Telnet client specifically.
So, no Interix telnet (client or daemon) problems.

I always choose to not install it, so the hotfix just errors for me.
So you only need it IFF you have installed the SFU telnet client which
normally happens by default. If you don't use it you can just remove it from
you system by re-starting the install and when the tree-like selection comes
up unselect the telnet box.
