hi,
I am a newbie to this forum and also to Interix.
I am struggling with the installation of perl modules in Interix, especially DBI & DBD::Oracle. I found lot of material on this forum relating to installation of modules but nothing suits my problem.
I have tried using pkg_add but later i found out that it works for modules of interix only and not with modules of perl (neither i found any perl modules on this site). Also i dont have direct access to ftp. Later i got to know that there is some problem with the ftp in Interix.
I dont want to get involved in all those things. Is there no way of installing perl modules in Interix?

The perl package comes with with these modules. Quote from the DB page:

...complete with the DBI database interface module, DBD::ODBC for connecting via ODBC, and DBD::Sybase to connect to any Sybase or SQL Server using FreeTDS.

Do you go through a proxy for ftp and/or http? Ftp can use a proxy.
Also, you can order a CD of all of the packages.

This is only happening with a couple of individuals.
