Announcing the division of the openssl package.
Until this point in time the libraries, include files and manual pages
have all been lumped into one package for OpenSSL. For most people only
the runtime/shared libraries are really needed (for ssh, wget, etc.).
Installing the manual pages and include files is of virtually no use
to these people. But it makes the install take a lot longer (there are
an incredible number of manual pages and include files).
The "original" openssl package name will now have just binaries,
certs and libraries. The libraries are shared and static to keep life
simple. This means any other package that uses OpenSSL needs
to make no dependency changes at all.
The new divided-off portion is named openssl_dev (dev for developer)
and has what is of interest to developers: include files and manual pages.
The openssl_dev package depends on the openssl package.
There are no changes to what is installed. So no immediate action needs to
be taken by anyone who has installed previous openssl versions.
The version numbers of each of these will be kept in lock-step.
