While trying out plotutils, I used the example dataset (the one in the info file) and tried to generate graphs.
graph -T X data
works as expected. So does
graph -T pnm data > gr.pbm
etc.
However,
graph -T png data > gr.png
gives an error saying that libplot has ignored unknown plotter type. An empty gr.png file is generated.
The same error is obtained with plot -T png gr.meta
This seems to be a bug in libplot, as the manual file clearly states that png format is supported. Any pointers?

It's likely that I didn't have the PNG library installed when I first built plotutils.
And since plotutils hasn't changed in 5 years, no update has happened to pick it up.
I've started a rebuild of plotutils. But it's smarter and noticed the newer automake
so it busily reconfiguring the world. The newer graph can use PNG now.
The reconfigure messed up the install. So it'll be a while to sort this out.
