Hi,
I've just started using Server 2003 R2 with SUA, on a test basis, and have run into some problems with the Interop Secure Shell:
1) The shell shortcuts point to 'posix.exe' in '%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\', but it's actually only in '%SYSTEMROOT%\'.
2) The starting locations for the shell shortcuts are 'C:\WINNT40\system32\', which is wrong (my %SYSTEMROOT% is 'C:\WINDOWS').
3) 'ssh-agent' fails to start up, reporting an invalid argument to 'bind()':
....
stat("/tmp", 0xd80728) stat ret: 0 dev: 0x40000000000043 ino: 0x00002a9b
mkdir("/tmp/ssh-ZILZHA1581", ) mkdir returned 0
socket(1, 1, 0) socket returned 3
umask(0x7F) umask returned 18 0x12
write(2, 0x85ebe0, 23) bind: Invalid argument
...
exit(1) process exited with status 1
For this last case, I have also tried installing the OpenSSH package alone, and it fails in the same way.
I am running SUA on Windows Server 2003 Standard R2, x86 (on an Athlon64), with all of the latest updates:
System = Interix
Release = 5.2
Version = SP-9.0.3790.2075
Machine = x86
Processor = AMD_x86_Family15_Model4_Stepping10
HostSystem = Windows
HostRelease = 5.2
HostVersion = SP1
Any help would be appreciated!
Best regards,
Thomas

For (1) and (2) that's kind-of odd the installer would do that.
I'm working on correcting this.
For (3) this turns out to be a Microsoft bug (a regression actually) for
SUA final. The unix-domain sockets aren't working correctly. I'm opening
a ticket with MS about it.
