I'm trying to run a Win32 program from Interix. I once had this working but was forced to reinstall Interix and the software in question. Now it doesn't work anymore. I have colleagues who have it working fine on their machines. So I know there is an answer to this - somewhere.
I'm running on Windows 2000 Professional SP4. If that helps.
I'm trying to run a program called bteq.exe. The program requires a .dll called icuuctd28.dll. I had to add the directory containing this file to the path. The path of this file appears be hard-coded into the bteq.exe. I say this because copying icuuctd28.dll to a directory on the path did not resolve the problem.
When I start bteq.exe I get the following error message:
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022). Click on Ok to terminate the application."
So you click on Ok and you are back at the command line.
The unusual thing is that if you change to the directory where this .dll is located, then everything works fine. bteq.exe starts up and runs normally.
Anyone have any theories on what the problem is?

It might be another environment variable.
Try doing a comparision of the environment variables between your
machine and a colleague's machine that's working.
