Hello all. I'm running Windows Server 2K3, and Interix 3.5. For some reason, I can't "chgrp" any files to a new group I've created in AD. I get an error stating "[X]: invalid group name". There doesn't appear to be a way to administrate groups through the Interix shell, so I'm kind of stuck here. Any suggestions?
Peace

Interix does all lookups for groups (and users) through the LSA. Win32 goes through
the LSA as well. It's all done though one spot. The LSA does the Kerberos (and other)
communications with AD.
If Interix is reporting it doesn't know the group, then the LSA doesn't know the group.
A "local group" on a server running AD will be the same as a domain group.
By default Interix will prefix a short name with the principle domain.
So if you specify "acct" it will be expanded to "domain+acct" (fully qualified).
Try making the request fully qualified with chgrp.
You can see the principle domain by running the command "pdomain".
