Hello,
I have the following szenario installed:
Fileserver
Win2K3 with SFU
ClearCase clients
Unix and Windows
VOB server
Unix
We want to use the Win2K3 server as repository for storing the CCviews (for Windows and for Unix clients). Creating views from a Windows machine works fine, but when I try to create a view from a Unix machine, I get the following error message
> /mnt/viewstorage/xyz [68]<NONE,-,-,->: ct mkview -tag test_view /mnt/viewstorage/xyz/test_view
> cleartool: Error: unable to set set-id on file /mnt/viewstorage/xyz/test_view/.identity/uid: No such file or directory
> cleartool: Error: Failed to set identity on view: No such file or directory
> cleartool: Error: Unable to create view "/mnt/viewstorage/xyz/test_view"
"viewstorage" is shared on the Win2K3 server using SFU (root access is allowed, all machines have read/write access).
Does anyone know that problem?
Thanks
- Daniel

The Windows driver is a Win32-Windows(OS) driver.
It has no concept of "set-id" (if I'm interpreting the message correctly as setuid/setgid).
Interix (on Windows OS) has setuid/setgid, but only with itself. Win32 doesn't.
I don't use ClearCase myself, so I can't reference as documentation. But I imagine that
this must have come up before. Perhaps there is a setting that can be modified on the Unix
client side.
