I've got SFU 3.5 installed on the xp machine. I'm in an admin group. I have the DEP switch off. I have even added and updated several packages.
While reading through the forums, I came across a recent posting that libport had been updated. It said to run
pkg_update -L libport
So I did - I got the message:
$ pkg_update -L libport
Starting checks for updates
.
grep: Cannot open file '/var/db/pkg/libport-*-bin/+CONTENTS': No such file or directory
Done.
So I was wondering if anyone could tell me what needed to be changed for this to work.
Thank you.

The package is new and thus won't have been installed before.
It was looking for information from a currently installed version
(which of course there isn't). It was trying to find where to get
the update/install from. In this case it used the "-L" default
(which seems to have failed) and then started looking for information.
I just tried doing it now and it was fine for me.
Try it again.
