Recently I installed SFU 3.5 on W2K3 SP1 machine. I followed the installation instructions found in the FAQ 1.01 including the Q899522 hotfix and disabling DEP via boot.ini. Additionally, I configured the registry settings found in FAQ 1.02 as directed. However, a rights/permissions problem remains as only Administrators can run the Unix Shell.
When a user attempts to launch either Shell (Korn or C Shell) the window opens then immediately closes. The following error is logged in the Applicaton Event Viewer:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Interix
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1019
Date: 7/26/2006
Time: 2:30:57 PM
User: N/A
Computer: RET4W900
Description:
The Interix/Posix subsystem is unable to load a DLL, pid=1803 cid=0x16c4.0x1588 code=0xc0000135 fc=0
I verified it as a rights/permissions issue by making the same user a local Admin on the box. This yielded a successfully test of a ksh script.
This box is also a Terminal Server with a vendor applicaton installed for multiple users.
