I have two servers (W2k3 SP1 Enterprise) in MSCS. SFU are installed.

From W2k3 server I execute ssh user@unixserver and all is good
From Unix I execute ssh user@w2k3server and the message is ssh: connect to host w2k3 port 22: Connection refused

How can i solve it???
Thanks

Are you running a firewall?

I donīt run a Firewall.

I think the problem is in the W2k3 server configuration. May be some configuration file? .rhost or same.

Just to get a baseline:
You have installed Interix/SFU 3.5 and installed the openssh package, right?
Is the daemon running? (quote output from "ps -Alw | grep sshd")

The exit of the command "ps -Al |grep sshd" does not show results.
I attach the exit of the command "ps -Al" and the daemon of sshd is not running.

In the installation I had problems, and the server reported "Memory Fault Core dump", but when i modified the file boot.ini with the parameter "/noexecute=AlwaysOff" the following attemp to install openssh was ok.

Reboot
or
login as the local administrator and run the rc script "/etc/init.d/sshd start".
It must be started as local administrator.

The keys are not there (as you imply).
The script that drives the key generation may not have run right.
There is an issue on W2K3/SP1 systems for scripts running. There
is KB899522 which is a hotfix for it.

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the openssh package.
If the keys don't get generated then you are hitting KB899522 for sure.
Either way, for W2K3 you should get the 899522 hotfix.
You can get it from Microsoft support; they shouldn't charge you for it.

Read the comments in the file /etc/inetd.conf for this.
Rshd is not active by default until /etc/inetd.conf is edited.

Hi. The problem persist.
The rsh of the SFU is working correctly, but the rsh of the Interix reports "access is denied" yet.

If I execute a remsh command from unix to windows including user it reports "access is denied", but if I execute a remsh command from unix to windows without a command line the system ask me about the password, and it is working correctly.

I have verified /usr/sbin/inetd and it is owned by the local administrator account. I have verified /etc/inetd.conf and the entries in /etc/hosts.equiv and /.rhosts files.

Please, somebody help me ????

Have you set a home directory for the user in the user database?
(refer to the FAQ's Admin section)
