Interop X Server 8.0 for SFU/Interix An important tool in the migration of a UNIX X-Windows application to the Microsoft Windows platform is a reliable X-11 Server. Interop Systems Inc. and Hummingbird Communications Ltd. have teamed up to offer version 8.0 of Hummingbird's world-leading X Server technology optimized for Microsoft Interix technology.

One of the original developers of Interix customized the installation process to eliminate a dozen potential conflicts with Interix. Hummingbird took those specifications and re-mastered the install process for use in Interop X Server 8.0 for SFU/Interix. (Interix must be installed first.) Users can still access the entire original Hummingbird contents by selecting Custom or Complete Install -- it is the Typical selection that has been tailored for use with Interix. At the end of the install process, users are given the opportunity to add the X Server to their Windows start-up group so that it is always available for their Interix application.

"During the last 10+ years I have tried just about every X Server on the market. After testing over ten servers, TPI has settled on the Hummingbird Exceed package. Exceed offers superior performance and the reliability demanded by all of TPI's customers. Interop Systems has added value to the package by eliminating the installation conflicts between Hummingbird's X Server and Microsoft Interix -- conflicts that can give rise to hard-to-troubleshoot deployment problems."
